Organic White Wine

TYPE OF WINE: Organic and vegan young white wine

PRODUCTION AREA: Designation of origin Penedès. Alt Penedès. Mas Codina Plantation. Own vineyards located in central Penedès, at an altitude of 300m with clay and sauló sols, are extremely calcareous. It makes these varieties express their full potential by providing freshness and aromas of white, citrus and tropical fruit. The age of the vineyards is: Xarel·lo 50 years, Moscat 36 years and Chardonnay 30 years.

CLIMATOLOGY: Mild and dry winter. Mild spring with some rain. Warm and rainy summer. The trend of these drought years has begun to change. The ripeness of the grapes is already normal for the climate we have (two weeks before). Manual selection of the grapes in the vineyard itself. Healthy harvest. With climate change has come a new pest, the green mosquito.

HARVEST: Start of the harvest, 1st week of August until the 4th week of September 2024. 40% less harvest. Harvest only from the vineyards of the Mas Codina plantation. Organic viticulture certified by the Catalan Council of Organic Agricultural Production.

VARIETIES: Xarel·lo 41%, Chardonnay 38% and Muscat 21%.

ELABORATION: Pre-fermentative cold maceration of Chardonnay. Traditional elaboration by Xarel · lo and Moscat. Obtaining the flowering must by pressing at low pressures with pneumatic press. Clarification of the must by static decantation at 16ºC for 20 hours. Alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel vats at a temperature between 14ºC and 20ºC. The wine is with its own mothers who are stirring once every fifteen days during the first 4 months.

BOTTLING: Bottled on the property in February 2024.

PRODUCTION: Limited to 9,333 bottles.
